28.09.09Mackenzie superb at Silverstone

PBRA-supported rider Taylor Mackenzie equalled his best performance of the season at Silverstone during the penultimate round of the British 125GP Championship.

The MMCG Motorpoint rider took advantage of an outstanding qualifying performance to finish the race in fourth position - his best display since also bagging fourth at Donington Park in May.

The youngster started the race in ninth place following a superb last lap qualifying bid. From thereon, Mackenzie was almost unstoppable and crossed the line just six seconds behind race winner Rob Guiver. Mackenzie was the first ACU Academy Cup competitor to cross the line and as a result he took maximum points in the rookies' cup - his second win of the season.

The Scot now occupies 11th in the overall British 125GP Championship standings with just one more race to go in the season.
