12.10.09Mackenzie fastest at Oulton Park

PBRA-supported rider Taylor Mackenzie signed the 2009 season off in style at Oulton Park with the fastest lap of the British 125GP Championship race at Oulton Park.

Following a superb performance at Silverstone last time out, the MMCG Motorpoint rider arrived at Oulton Park full of confidence and optimism. This was proved when Mackenzie posted the eighth quickest time in qualifying to set up a thrilling finale to the season. Despite his solid qualifying performance, the youngster was unable to capitalise and crossed the line in 13th place, just 0.008 seconds behind 12th-placed Catherine Green. Mackenzie will find some solace in the fact that he clocked the fastest lap of the race though - 1:48.053 on lap 11.

The result means Mackenzie finishes the British 125GP Championship in 11th place and the ACU Academy Cup in fourth. After an encouraging campaign, Mackenzie will be looking to continues his motorcycle racing education in 2010 and beyond!
